OHDELA administrators, supervisors, and teachers work closely together. This teamwork ensures children like yours stay engaged and reach their full potential in our school. OHDELA finds leaders with extensive training and experience in classrooms and online schools. We aim to provide our young students with the best online education OHIO schools offer. They work with our board of directors and charter school sponsors, ensuring students meet or surpass Ohio’s academic standards.

Dr. Christopher Brooks is honored to serve as Head of School at OHDELA. He is an innovative instructional leader whose work is focused on building and fostering strong adult and student learning communities that promote student success. He believes deeply that strong educators and schools can transform the trajectory of a student’s life.
Chris brings leadership experiences in blended, distance and online learning spaces to leverage personalized learning strategies to meet the learning journey of each student. He has served as an Assistant High School Principal, Junior High Principal, Middle School Principal, Lead Middle School Principal. He led the design process and was founding principal of The 9X Impact, a project-based learning 9th grade academy and was an Instructional Specialist with a charter-school network. Most recently, he was the OHDELA High School Principal.
He holds the Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, completed the Superintendent Licensure program at The Ohio State University, and the Master of Educational Administration and Bachelor of Music Education from Bowling Green State University.
Cathy Blankenship
Middle School (Grades 5-8) Principal

Cathy Blankenship is pleased to serve as Middle School Principal at OHDELA. This is Cathy’s 19th year in educational leadership and her 4th year being a part of OHDELA. She attended Bowling Green State University to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Dayton. Cathy comes to OHDELA with 18 years of experience in online education both as a teacher and administrator. Her educational experiences in both brick and mortar and online has afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with diverse groups of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Cathy believes all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family.
Breen Slauter
High School Principal

I am honored and excited to join the OHDELA team as the High School Principal. I have 22 years of experience in education, including roles as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, and administrator at the building and district levels. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Language Arts from Kent State University. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Salem University and an MBA in Human Resource Management from Florida Metropolitan University. My educational philosophy centers on the belief that all students can succeed when provided with a supportive and engaging learning environment in which they feel they belong.
Outside of work, I am a wife and mother of two children. I enjoy dancing, puzzles, and movies of all genres! I look forward to getting to know our students, staff, and families as we work together to create an exceptional educational experience for every child in our school.

Mrs. Morris joined the OHDELA team in 2022 and is honored to serve as the Elementary Principal. Originally from Maple Heights, Ohio, Mrs. Morris graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Morris is a dedicated education leader who is committed to fostering a collaborative environment where all stakeholders work together to achieve the highest standards of education and student success. She is passionate about building a strong foundation and a love for learning for all elementary students, committed to the success of every student while recognizing that success encompasses academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and readiness for future challenges.
Kevin Snarr

I am looking forward to serving as the Director of Engagement this year. This is my third year at OHDELA and my 26th year as an educational leader in public schools in Ohio. I attended Capital University and earned my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. I proceeded to earn my principal and superintendent licenses at the University of Dayton. I arrived at OHDELA with both brick and mortar and public online experience. I have experience as a high school teacher and a principal at elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I am very excited to take on this new role at OHDELA and believe that a high level of student engagement is the first step to student success.
Lynn Ross

I am honored to serve as the Director of Special Education for OHDELA. This is my 25th year in education of which 18 have been spent in the online learning environment. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Cleveland State University and hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Educational Leadership.
I love the individualized format we can offer students with a disability in the virtual setting. As a Special Education Director, I work with teachers and staff to develop effective special education programs that are embedded with best practices aimed at meeting the unique learning needs of each student.
I live in Sharon Township with my three children. I am an avid yogi and enjoy the mental and physical aspects of practicing and challenging myself daily.
Katona West
Director of Operations

I am excited to be part of the OHDELA team as the Director of Operations. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development from the University of Akron and my MBA with a specialization in Human Resources from Ashland University. I have over 20+ years of experience in Operations. My career started in corporate, and I have always been passionate about education. Previously, I worked as an instructor for an adult learning program that assisted adult learners with obtaining their diplomas and as a math tutor for grades 3-12. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and eating at diverse restaurants. I am especially proud of my son who served this country as a United States Airman and my teenage daughter who is pursuing a BA in Accounting and Finance.
